Put money back into your pocket this winter and many winters to come by burning wood or coal as your primary fuel and have gas as a back up fuel for when you are away. This furnace boasts 54 square feet of heat exchanger surface. This is our standard model Husky which is equipped with a 1/3 HP blower motor.
Built to last
We use 10 gauge steel to on the firebox and 304 stainless steel for the secondary heat exchanger tubes. The firebox is lined with 2-inch thick, high-duty firebricks that protect the steel and retains the heat of the fire to keep it in the furnace for higher efficiency. Heavy cast wood grates are standard equipment on this furnace. Built heavy to last longer. You also have the choice of upgrading to an even heavier cast coal shaker grate if you choose to burn coal as a primary fuel.
Simple to use
The Husky is controlled by two Honeywell digital thermostats. Simply put wood into the firebox, turn up the thermostat for the gas burner - allow the wood to catch on fire - turn up the wood thermostat and you are done. The gas burner will light the wood for you! No more kindling or newspapers to start your fire. The furnace blower will cycle like a conventional furnace to keep your home at the temperature you choose, but now you are not burning the expensive liquid fuel, you are keeping your entire home warm on wood heat.
Heat your entire home during power outages
That's right! The Husky has been Tested and is Listed by UL to heat strictly on gravity feed (without electicity). As long as your furnace is installed with all ducting going in an upflow manner and you have wood available to put into the firebox you can keep your whole house warm. No more worries about frozen pipes or leaving your home. Just add small amounts of wood to the firebox!
Burn wood or coal efficiently
The Husky is built with our Patented - Afterburner Jet System - in the firebox. This "secondary combustion air" that is allowed into the firebox on top of the fire burns off the gases in the smoke. This feature gains 30 to 40% more BTU's off the solid fuel and lessens the emmisions of the furnace.
One Chimney Needed
The Yukon multi-fuel furnaces are the ONLY furnaces on the Market that are UL Listed to vent both liquid and solid fuel out the same chimney. We were the first and only company in the USA that has put our central fired furnaces to the rigorous testing of Underwriter's Laboratories to get this listing. All you need is one All-Fuel, High-Temperature chimney to vent your Husky!
Made in the USA
The Husky is made of American Steel in Palisade Minnesota. All other components are bought and built to our specifications from American companies, too!
